Hockaday is a residential neighbourhood that flanks the Coquitlam River between Pipeline Road and David Avenue. It is surrounded by forest but just a short way from Coquitlam’s bustling Town Centre commercial and recreational hub.

The Coquitlam River, that bisects the neighbourhood offers fishing, swimming or just a cool, pleasant place to enjoy nature.
Nearby Coquitlam Centre is the retail hub of the northeast corner of Metro Vancouver. It is one of the region’s largest shopping centres. It is supported by smaller shopping plazas like Pinetree Centre.
For more leisurely pursuits, the nearby City Centre Aquatic Centre offers a variety of fitness and recreation options, including a wave pool. Across Pinetree Way, the Town Centre Sports Complex has facilities for every outdoor sport from baseball to track and field. The Coquitlam Highland Games is an annual highlight. Or you can just take a relaxing stroll around Lafarge Lake, a manmade lake that used to be a gravel quarry and is now stocked with fish every spring.

Hockaday is comprised mostly of single-family detached homes. There are a small supply of townhouses recently constructed.
