Coquitlam – Coquitlam West

Coquitlam West is a residential neighbourhood that encompasses the area around Lougheed Town Centre. That makes it walkable and well connected to transit into Vancouver and east to the Town Centre area.

The Lougheed Town Centre shopping mall is the retail and services hub of the neighbourhood. The 41-acre site is in the beginning stages of a massive transformation into an urban centre that includes the redevelopment of the mall and the construction of 23 condo and office towers. Much of the project will be clustered around the Lougheed SkyTrain station which is the junction for the Millennium line into Vancouver and the new Evergreen extension that runs to Port Moody and Coquitlam Town Centre.
North Road, along the neighbourhood’s western edge, is also a busy commercial strip. The Northgate Village project is a mixed development of condo towers, office and commercial space including a grocery store and gym. Just south of the Lougheed Highway, Koreatown has become a hub for the Asian community with authentic restaurants and supermarkets.
But Coquitlam West isn’t all about bustling retail and burgeoning condo towers.
The nearby Cameron Recreation Centre is a focal point for residents with a public library, athletic facility including racquetball courts and a lovely park complete with an outdoor fitness circuit.
Along Austin Avenue, the Vancouver Golf Club is one of British Columbia’s oldest golf clubs. It has hosted the Women’s Canadian Open three times.

Transit

Lougheed SkyTrain station connects Coquitlam West to much of the Lower Mainland at the Millennium Line to Vancouver and the new Evergreen extension to Port Moody and Coquitlam Town Centre. The station also has bus connections for the rest of the Tri-Cities and to Simon Fraser University.
