South Slope is a large, established family neighbourhood of detached homes, townhomes, and condo towers. It is located between Marine Drive and Rumble Street, from Griffiths in the east to Patterson in the west, and offers several schools, sports facilities, and great parks.
Neighbourhood amenities
The South Slope neighbourhood may be on the side of a hill, but it’s got no shortage of parks. Riverway Sports Complex, in the area’s southwest corner, is a multisport recreational facility with soccer and softball fields and an outdoor lacrosse box.
Byrne Creek Ravine Park bisects much of the neighbourhood. The park straddles Byrne Creek, an urban waterway lovingly restored to its natural splendour by dedicated streamkeepers. The stream is home to spawning salmon and even trout. A network of trails runs through the forested area along the creek.
The neighbourhood is also right in the middle of three commercial districts: Metrotown, Highgate, and Market Crossing. It has easy access to two SkyTrain stations, Edmonds and Royal Oak.
