The area around Burnaby Hospital is an up-and-coming neighbourhood that is centrally located to major healthcare, technology and education employers. It’s also close to shopping, schools and parks. It is located south of Highway 1 to Moscrop, between Willingdon and Boundary roads.
Neighbourhood Amenities
The focal point of the neighbourhood is, of course, Burnaby Hospital, one of the largest hospitals outside of Vancouver. But in recent years major high-tech employers like EA Sports, Kodak and Schneider Electric have moved into the area, taking advantage of talent graduating from the nearby British Columbia Institute of Technology.
The neighbourhood offers a mix of housing, from smaller, mid-century bungalows to larger custom homes to a growing supply of townhouses and condos.
There’s a small commercial strip of independent shops and services near the hospital, but the neighbourhood is close to Burnaby’s Metrotown and Brentwood shopping malls. To get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Central Park and Deer Lake Park are also nearby; both offer kilometres of forested walking trails and well as recreational and cultural facilities.
