Marpole is in the southern half of Vancouver West along the Fraser River. The northern border is marked by Park Dr but when it intersects with Oak St, the northern border moves up to W 59th Ave. The eastern and western borders are marked by Ontario St and Granville St. The north arm of the Fraser River marks Marpole’s southern border. The construction of the Arthur Liang and Oak St Bridge have changed the layout of the neighbourhood and have revitalized many of the commercial districts along Granville St over the years. The Canada Line has also improved the area along Cambie St. Marpole is one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods and is rapidly growing.
Neighbourhood Amenities
Granville St serves not only as a major route into downtown Vancouver, but also as a major commercial and retail district destination. Residents and visitors can expect to find restaurants, cafes, shopping, grocery, liquor stores and professional services. All essential amenities can be found along Granville St making it possible for residents of Marpole to never have to leave the area! Cambie St and Marine Dr is currently being developed into commercial district known as the “Marine Gateway”, which will feature two residential towers, lots of commercial space and entertainment for a truly urban life.
Fraser River Park is located in the southwestern corner of Marpole and runs along Fraser River. It offers stunning views of the Fraser river and a walking path along the water. It is a popular destination for many residents to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Marpole Community Centre is centrally located and offers childcare facilities as well as amenities such as a fitness centre, racquet courts and whirlpools and saunas.

Marpole is centrally located to the three major north-south Corridors leading in and out of Vancouver and Richmond. Oak, Cambie and Granville streets are also well serviced by public transit. Commuters can find the Canada Line along Cambie, whereas Oak and Granville St are well serviced by busses.
