Home to UBC, this neighbourhood is one of the most sought out areas in Vancouver for its close proximity to stunning beaches and its location in the middle of a conservation area. The University Endowment Lands encompass the western tip of the Vancouver West peninsula. Home to many students, young families and academics, this neighbourhood is one of the most vibrant, unique and beautiful in Vancouver.

Neighbourhood Amenities

The University Endowment Lands house Pacific Spirit Park, a 2160 acre park with over 73 km of walking trails. The extensive network of trails are great for hiking, biking and horseback riding, with many of trails ending on beachfront. Wreck Beach can be found on the western tip of the neighbourhood and is a clothing optional beach. It is one of Vancouver’s best beaches, sheltered by a cliff edge where you can enjoy the shining sun while the breeze from the ocean cools you down. Its beautiful white sand beaches allow visitors to comfortably lay down and take the time to relax. Wreck beach is a hot destination for many Vancouverites for its intimate and private feel. In addition, every summer there are market stands set up where locals come and sell convenience goods. Tower Beach is located just around the corner of Wreck Beach and features an old WWII lookout tower. It is a rocky beach, but provides its visitors with a tranquil place to visit as an escape from a busy urban life. Living in this neighbourhood allows residents to always be close to nature, beautiful views and the ocean.

UBC is home to Nitobe Gardens, a school funded Japanese Garden that is open to the public 7 days a week. It features a pond and a traditional Japanese house. Biodiversity Museum and the Museum of Anthropology are a couple of the museums that can be found on the University campus. In addition, UBC features a tree-canopy walk where visitors can walk along the tops of trees.
