Neighbourhood Amenities
The University Endowment Lands house Pacific Spirit Park, a 2160 acre park with over 73 km of walking trails. The extensive network of trails are great for hiking, biking and horseback riding, with many of trails ending on beachfront. Wreck Beach can be found on the western tip of the neighbourhood and is a clothing optional beach. It is one of Vancouver’s best beaches, sheltered by a cliff edge where you can enjoy the shining sun while the breeze from the ocean cools you down. Its beautiful white sand beaches allow visitors to comfortably lay down and take the time to relax. Wreck beach is a hot destination for many Vancouverites for its intimate and private feel. Tower Beach is located just around the corner of Wreck Beach and features an old WWII lookout tower. UBC is home to Nitobe Gardens, a school funded Japanese Garden that is open to the public 7 days a week. It features a pond and a traditional Japanese house. In addition, UBC features a tree-canopy walk where visitors can walk along the tops of trees.
