Arbutus is an affluent residential neighbourhood on Vancouver’s West Side characterized by large, detached homes on spacious lots. The neighbourhood is mainly populated by families and mature long time residents. Just south of Kitsilano, Arbutus’ boundaries are marked by W 16th Ave, Quesnel Drive, West King Edward Ave and Arbutus St. With stunning views of the North Shore mountains and the Downtown Vancouver skyline, Arbutus’ peaceful suburban streets are lined with trees.
Neighbourhood amenities
While primarily residential, Arbutus is home to several landmarks, including the Art Deco-style Ridge Theatre. Arbutus Street offers most of the dining choices in the neighbourhood, while 16th Ave is a trendy shopping district. Rife with green space, Carnarvon Park and Trafalgar Park are within minutes of each other and offer residents a stellar spot for a pick up game or a sunny spot to enjoy a good book. Both parks feature large open fields perfect for playing sports or just enjoying the outdoors on a nice sunny day. The private Arbutus Club offers family-oriented sports, exercise facilities and fine dining to members.
