Fraserview is close to Downtown New Westminster as well as historic Sapperton, but still offers the peace and quiet of a suburban neighbourhood. It is bordered by Cumberland St, 6th Ave, E. Columbia St. and McBride Blvd.
The neighbourhood offers staggering views of the Fraser River, beautiful parks and a vibrant community that is full of history. In fact, Fraserview used to be home to the notorious BC Penitentiary that housed some of Canada’s most hardened criminals. While the prison is long gone, its gatehouse and administration buildings have been preserved, repurposed and integrated into residential developments.
Another infamous institution, the old Woodland psychiatric hospital, has been redeveloped into the spectacular Victoria Hill planned community.

Historic Queen’s Park Arena hosts minor hockey and lacrosse as well as the renowned New Westminster Salmonbellies junior and senior lacrosse teams that have won numerous national championships. The adjacent Arenex is a recreational centre for community programs, trampoline and tumbling, as well as the Queensborough Boxing Club.
Glenbrook Ravine Park snakes through the Fraserview neighbourhood, its forested walking trails a cool and quiet shelter from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Downtown New Westminster, with its array of restaurants, cafés, shops and services, is located only minutes away. Fraserview is a unique and special neighbourhood, an oasis of tranquility and green space but in close proximity to a bustling city center.
