Coquitlam – Upper Eagle Ridge

1251 LANSDOWNE DR, COQUITLAM, BC V3E 1S6, CANADA

Upper Eagle Ridge is a residential neighbourhood on the slope of Coquitlam Mountain, overlooking the eastern tip of Burrard Inlet, Port Moody and Coquitlam Town Centre.

Neighbourhood amenities

Upper Eagle Ridge winds its way up the southern slope of Coquitlam Mountain along Lansdowne Drive. It’s bisected by a challenging trail along a right of way that has been christened the “Coquitlam Crunch.”
The Crunch ascends 244 metres in just over two kilometres, offering a vigorous workout not unlike the famous Grouse Grind that climbs Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. At its end, the Crunch offers further access to a variety of hiking and biking trails into the surrounding mountains.
Or head towards Ioco Road to get a true taste of West Coast splendour at Belcarra Regional Park, where a walk along its pier or its vast network of forested trails will reward you with sightings of soaring eagles and spectacular vistas up Indian Arm or across Burrard Inlet to North Burnaby. Wilderness hiking trails into the surrounding mountains can also be accessed at Buntzen Lake and Anmore.
Upper Eagle Ridge is close to Coquitlam’s busy Town Centre area, and it’s just up the hill from Port Moody’s newest master-planned communities at Newport Village and Suter Brook.
Newport Village is a mixed development of condos and townhouses built around a central square that is lined by independent shops, restaurants and cafés. It’s like visiting Whistler Village but without the clatter of ski boots echoing off the pavement.
A little further west, Port Moody’s Murray Street has become a hotbed for craft beer with four new breweries all within walking distance of each other. The city’s historic core, along adjacent Clarke Street, features some small shops, cafés, restaurants, and a glimpse into the way the area was when the Canadian Pacific Railway ended there.
