Coquitlam – Meadow Brook

Meadow Brook is a small residential neighbourhood on the border with Port Coquitlam. It is bounded by Lougheed Highway, Westwood Street and Como Lake Avenue.

Meadow Brook is an affordable neighbourhood that is centrally located to shopping and recreation at Coquitlam’s Town Centre as well as nearby downtown Port Coquitlam.
Nearby Coquitlam Centre is the retail hub of the northeast corner of Metro Vancouver. It is one of the region’s largest shopping centres. It is supported by smaller shopping plazas like Pinetree Centre as well as big box retailers like Superstore.
For more leisurely pursuits, the nearby City Centre Aquatic Centre offers a variety of fitness and recreation options, including a wave pool. Across Pinetree Way, the Town Centre Sports Complex has facilities for every outdoor sport from baseball to track and field. The B.C. Highland Games is an annual highlight. Or you can just take a relaxing stroll around Lafarge Lake, a manmade lake that used to be a gravel quarry and is now stocked with fish every spring.
The Coquitlam River, that runs through the neighbourhood, is lined with walking trails.
Downtown Port Coquitlam retains much of its historical charm as a terminus for the Canadian Pacific Railway that moved its freight operations to the city in 1911. That heritage is captured in murals painted on the sides of some commercial buildings that house a variety of independent shops, cafés and services. In July, the area comes alive with the new PoCo Grand Prix criterium bike race and festival, that is part of the BC Superweek competition for professional cyclists.

Transit

Meadow Brook has excellent bus service that connects users to the new Evergreen extension of SkyTrain for fast and convenient trips to most of Metro Vancouver.
The neighbourhood is also close to the Lougheed and Barnet highways as well as the Mary Hill Bypass for quick car commutes to the west or the east.
