Belcarra is a secluded seaside neighbourhood of large, spectacular homes perched on cliffs and bluffs rising up out of Indian Arm and Bedwell Bay.
Belcarra shares its name with a large regional park at the end of the two roads that connect the neighbourhood to the rest of Metro Vancouver. Belcarra Regional Park is a waterfront playground with a pier from which crabbers try to catch dinner and bird watchers can spot soaring eagles and cormorants. The park also features a picnic area, pebbled beach, canoe and kayak rentals as well as an extensive network of trails into the surrounding forest and bluffs.
Shopping, restaurants and services are a short distance away, after a scenic drive along Ioco Road. Newport Village is a Whistler-style community of townhouses and condos built around a lively central square that is surrounded by independent shops, cafés, restaurants and a busy produce market.
Just across the street, the Port Moody Recreation Centre, Civic Centre and Public Library are the city’s sport and leisure hub.
A further quick drive west along Murray Street takes you right into the heart of Brewery Row, where four craft breweries are all within walking distance of each other
A shuttle bus connects Belcarra to Port Moody's Newport Village area, where the Inlet SkyTrain station is just a short walk away. From there commuters can ride the Evergreen extension of the elevated rail line east to Coquitlam's bustling Town Centre area or west to the Lougheed Station for further connections to the rest of Metro Vancouver.
