Chineside is a small residential neighbourhood on the north flank of “The Bump” with spectacular views of Indian Arm and the northern mountains. It is one of the three neighborhoods that are located between Port Moody and Como Lake Avenue.
Chineside’s large homes are centrally located to shopping, recreation and culture.
Shops, services and restaurant line St. John’s Street at the foot of the neighbourhood. Coquitlam’s bustling Town Centra area, with its giant retail mall, Town Centre park, Evergreen Cultural Centre, Aquatic Centre and Douglas College, is just a short drive or SkyTrain ride away.
Mundy Park, along the southern flank of Chineside is a 435-acre forested playground of hiking trails, sports fields, baseball diamonds, playgrounds, picnic area and outdoor pool.
Nearby, the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre is a destination for hockey and lacrosse players, figure skaters, curlers, as well as swimmers. It is located next the central branch of Coquitlam Public Library and just across the street from a year-round tennis facility and the Dogwood Pavilion community centre.
Bus routes run through Chineside, connecting to the new SkyTrain station at Coquitlam Central, Inlet Centre and Moody Centre, as well as to the West Coast Express rail commuter service. Nearby Highway 1 and Lougheed Highway provide a direct road link into Vancouver or east to the Fraser Valley.
Chineside real estate
Most of the homes in the area are older but is one of Coquitlam’s more affordable neighbourhoods. Buyers can only find detached homes for sale in Chineside.
