The aging Pattullo Bridge will be getting a much needed update over the next 5 years as Translink proceeds with development for a twin bridge to widen the road and make it safer for those traveling to Surrey from New West and vice versa.

The 75 year old Bridge caught fire in early 2009 and an 18-metre section of wooden trestles at the south end of the structure were demolished. Since then the structure and safety of the Pattullo Bridge has been a concern for travellers and translink.
