Port Moody – North Shore

North Shore runs along the northern shore of Port Moody Inlet and wraps around its eastern end. The narrow strip that flanks both sides of Ioco Road from Guildford Way to Ioco offers a diverse mixture of housing from high-rise condos to townhouses to expansive custom homes on spectacular waterfront lots.

 

Neighbourhood amenities

North Shore is close to shopping and recreation.

Shopping and services can be found just at the foot of Heritage Mountain Boulevard at Newport Village and Suter Brook Village. They’re each a mix new condos, townhouses and even office space around a lively central square of commercial shops, cafés and restaurants; it’s like being in Whistler but without the clomping of ski boots.

Right across the street, many of Port Moody’s civic facilities, including an ice rink, tennis courts, soccer pitch, fitness centre as wells as the main library branch and City Hall. are clustered at the busy recreation centre.

A multi-use trail runs along the waterfront to connect much of the North Shore neighbourhood to the recreation centre and Newport Village.

A little further east, Coquitlam’s bustling Town Centre area offers a broad range of shopping, dining and entertainment options, including one of the province’s largest shopping malls, Coquitlam Centre.

Transit

Transit service along Ioco Road is fairly limited. A shuttle bus connects residents to Port Moody’s recreation and commercial hub at the Recreation Centre and Newport Village, as well as to the Inlet Station of the new Evergreen extension to SkyTrain.  The nearest major thoroughfare is Barnet Highway which offers a direct route into the heart of Downtown Vancouver.

 

North Shore real estate

This area has a diverse set of residential real estate products. There is a healthy supply of condos, townhomes and detached homes for sale in the area which caters to people of all backgrounds.
