Barber Street is a small, quiet residential neighbourhood overlooking the eastern end of Burrard Inlet and across the water to Port Moody’s downtown.


Neighbourhood amenities

Barber Street’s location along the road to Anmore means the neighbourhood is still close to nature, but even close to the shopping, services and recreation of the Newport Village area and Coquitlam Town Centre.

As the neighbourhood rises from Ioco Road, many houses enjoy views across the water to Burnaby Mountain.

Barber Street is close to two large parks that encompass much of the Pacific Northwest’s diverse beauty. Buntzen Lake’s numerous hiking trails are a gateway into the surrounding mountains. The lake itself is a cooling oasis on hot summer days and a constant lure for fishers and canoeists. A little further west, Belcarra Regional Park features picnic areas, a pier, canoe and kayak rentals as well as a network of easier trails that provide spectacular viewpoints across the Burrard Inlet and up Indian Arm.

When more urban amenities beckon, Coquitlam’s Town Centre area, Newport Village and Port Moody’s historic downtown are a short drive away. Each offers a range of shopping, services, restaurants and entertainment. The Port Moody Recreation Centre and Public Library are also nearby.





Bus service to Barber Street is limited. The main thoroughfare to and from the neighbourhood, Ioco Road, connects directly to the Barnet and Lougheed Highways.

A multi-use pathway for cyclists and runners that runs along the water and all the way around the eastern end of the inlet to Port Moody is also nearby.
