Burnaby – Oakdale

Oakdale is a small residential neighbourhood near the booming Lougheed Town Centre area at the foot of Burnaby Mountain. It is tucked between Stoney Creek, North Road and Lyndhurst.

Neighbourhood amenities

Oakdale is a quiet, established neighbourhood of single family homes and few newer townhouses. It’s close to the array of shops and services along North Road and at Lougheed Town Centre, as well as the new Evergreen SkyTrain line.

Stoney Creek is a fish-bearing creek that runs along Oakdale’s western edge. It is flanked by forested walking trails.

The neighbourhood is also close to the extensive network of hiking and biking trails at Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area as well as the Cameron Recreation Centre where there’s an outdoor fitness circuit, indoor tennis and racquetball courts and a library.

Oakdale is walking distance to the Lougheed SkyTrain station. Downtown Vancouver is a 20-minute train ride away, and the new Evergreen line will make travelling to and from Coquitlam and Port Moody equally quick and convenient.

Oakdale real estate

Oakdale’s small size means the supply of single family homes for sale is usually pretty limited. The development of some new townhouses has increased the variety of real estate available in the neighbourhood.
